THE END OF AN ERA

Saturday 16th May marked the end of more than 25 years of hard work, dedication and lots of baking by two wonderful ladies, Joyce and Gwen, as sadly it was the last domino drive. I'm sure many people would agree that all their help and running of this event voluntarily over the years has contributed massively to the upkeep of the bandroom, and they have done such a fantastic job to run it every other week. At the end of the evening they were surprised by the Chairman & President along with a few band members appearing with a large cake to mark the occasion. A presentation of a teapot in band colours was made to each of them, along with Certificates of Life Membership. The band would like to say a massive thank you to them both and everyone else behind the scenes who have supported the band in more ways than one!
