SPRING CONCERT 2018

Once again we held our Spring Concert in the Memorial Hall Pickering. This years event was on Saturday March 24th, and again included items by the Training Band and the youngsters from Pickering Junior School.
The band opened up with The Muppet Show theme tune, followed by Ecce Homo (Behold The Man) the theme to Mr Bean. Following these were two lively numbers, Sur le Pont and Hey Missa Tallyman. To conclude this part of the concert we played the Beatles Abbey Rd Medley.
Jeannette Kendal introduced her young players from the Junior School, all of whom this time played a solo accompanied by backing tracks. Great stuff! The Training Band played a short program, this year conducted by Ian. Starting with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang they continued with Music Box, Pirates Of The Caribbean finishing with the Radetzky Mrach with everyone clapping along to the beat.
After tea and cakes and the obligatory raffle both bands along with the juniors took part in the finale which was two items from 4 Rock Classics For Beginners - the African lullaby Thula Baba and rounding off the concert with The Final Countdown.
